Antonella Guarracino is an Italian currently living in Ireland. A recent trip to Sicily, and a walk through the historic markets of Vucciria and Capo in Palermo yielded these images.
She explains, “Vucciria is Palermo’s oldest market and is located in the heart of the old town centre. While Vucciria is dedicated primarily to the sale of meat (its name deriving from the word Bucceria, which in turn comes from the French Boucheri meaning butcher), along the narrow streets of Capo market you can buy almost everything.”
Antonella is an Art Historian who studied in Florence, and then moved to Ireland six years ago. She says “The combination of my two biggest passions (photography and antiques) have created a slightly compulsive passion for vintage cameras.”
She obviously puts them to good use – she has a wonderful collection of images on her site, antonellaguarracino.com. Most definitely worth investigating!
