It’s that time of the year again when tractorgirl takes a trip to the beach with her family. We always have plenty of music in the car for the long drive. I thought I’d share some of special tracks that have caught my ear over the last year or so, chosen for their sounds (and sometimes for their lyrics – although not always….).

Courtney Barnett is a Melbourne singer-songwriter with fab lyrics and a great garage-y indie pop guitar sound that is just good honest fun. ‘History Eraser’ is the first song of hers that I heard, and it’s basically about getting drunk and imagining crazy things. Kinda perfect for the start of a holiday(?)

(And I’ve got a selection of stuff I reckon Courtney might like, chosen from my Pinterest boards.)
