Enjoy a drive in the country to this stunning rural location in my rustic cottage, only a short 30-minute drive north of Wagga. Perfect for beginners (or those just wanting to play!) this Intro to Surface Pattern Design class will cover all you need to know about pattern to get you started on making beautiful repeats that you can use on fabric, wallpaper, or even make your own special gift wrapping paper!
And, have a lovely day in the rural countryside.
Full day structure includes:
- intro to tessellation and the different layout types of patterns
- techniques to avoid obvious gaps and lines in your patterns
- creating a linocut stamp so you can print your own repeats
- printing your own pattern
- intro to printing on fabric
You'll be working with me, Julie Gibbons, and I'll be drawing on my 30 or so years of experience in art & design. All materials will be provided, as well as morning tea and a light lunch. If you have dietary requirements, it's essential to advise me in the "Dietary Requirements" section when you book. Payment can be made by direct deposit, or card via Stripe. You'll receive directions to my house upon booking because Google Maps can NOT be trusted, lols!
