Photography : Vaida Petreikis

Texture, texture, texture. Rich and dense textures, in moody black and white; soft and delicate textures enriched with sweet and bright pastels.

Lithuanian Vaida Petreikis came to photography more or less by chance. She currently works as a lecturer full time with her first love, IT – but her first degree was actually in Art and Art History. After that she achieved her Master’s in Applied Sociology, and then… she returned to her first area of interest, Informatics and got a Master’s degree in Information Technologies. However, art and making has always been part of her life.

“At first photography was just a small hobby for me, but, step by step, this evolved into something else. Over time I noticed that people around me love what I do, love the way I see the world. After several requests to print my works for interiors I decided to try selling my works. Why not? Life is full of possibilities.”

Vaida’s life is very, very full. Not only does she teach and photograph, she also felts, loves cooking and reading, and is a wife and mother.

When I asked her to tell me about herself, she replied –
“I love diversity. In everything.
Photography is my passion and this passion grows constantly…
I must confess – I have too much passions, and photography is not the only one. Felting is my second passion. Cooking – the third one. And so on… Maybe this is just the passion for life.
I try to live slowly. As much as I can.
Neutral, earthy, natural colors are my favorites.
And I’m definitely not a writer :)”
