Georgia Coote is a surface designer based in the UK.

Equal parts whimsy and boldness, her designs have been applied to all manner of surfaces, including textiles, wrapping paper, website backgrounds, and ceramics.

Using a combination of hand-drawn shapes and computer generated graphics, Georgia creates rich patterns that allude to both past and present. The linear qualities of her work reflect those of one her favourite artists, Raoul Dufy. Other influences include Orla Kiely, Zandra Rhodes, Marrimekko, and one of my all-time favourites, legend Lucienne Day.

Her vintage colour palette is fresh yet comfy, and she says that she “loves to create quirky, warm designs that are uplifting and good for the soul.” I love how these patterns appear on the cloth, with the textured lines of her drawings floating over the flat colours of their backgrounds.
